Nearing the End

This was a card that Bill found in a book. When I came across the photo, I thought this dog looks like many feel as we move along through this year.

This has been a trrible year Shari in many ways.
Thankfully some good, too.
Let us hope that 2021 will make up the shortcomings of 2020.
Cute photo.

It's true--'good' and 'bad' go together and all is impermanent.

I suspect things will continue to deteriorate. As I replied to Vicki yesterday, this pandemic could be contained with relatively simple measures that enough people are unwilling to engage with. This doesn't bode well for our ability to make the more intense lifestyle changes necessary to address things like the climate emergency or the next pandemic or whatever it is that comes along or is already happening.

When I saw this in my reader the first thing I thought was that I didn't know you had a dog, and the only words I could see from the card were "good-bye, good riddance" and "Nearing the End" and felt sad because I thought you were losing a dog, then I got upset because you were saying "good riddance" to your dog.

This post was full of emotions for me :)

🙂 I would've had the same reaction as you did! We have had to say good-bye to several dogs (& cats). They live in our hearts still.

I’d say she’s doing a bit better than I am but I’m hanging on for dear life. Cannot wait for the new year and then the vaccine. Let’s see what comes next.

Funny
Isolating here
I even order groceries now
Just gets worse
To quote another
One generation dying alone in hospitals and nursing homes while another generation worries about where to eat holiday meals
Sad

It is sad. And the people who deny that they even have COVID as they are being intubated is really something. The denial and this nonsense about how wearing a face covering and avoiding crowds is some kind of infringement on freedom is killing people. It is really horrifying to watch what is going on there.

I'm glad you're staying safe.
