When we were walking around Burtonport, we passed a small housing estate with a play area for the kids and a green area with a bench. I saw the guy on the bench and thought it was an interesting place for such a statue. Then I wondered whether it actually was a piece of art or an actual person--we were looking at the back. When I got closer, I could see that it was sculpture.
On the way back, we went into the space and looked at him from the front. It's too bad his hands broke off.

I could crochet mittens to go where his hands should be!🙂😏
That's a cute idea, do you think you will? Is it close enough to visit to replace as needed? (I imagine some people who might need mittens might abscond with them now and then.)
It's close enough-- a few km up the road. I might do a yarn bomb if we're still here in the autumn :-)
Nice, even closer than I realized. Oh interesting, are you considering another area?
We're open to various areas in the north and/or west and we'd love to be able to stay in this town, but we have been experiencing issues with this apt since autumn, so we want to leave. We've been stuck because of lockdowns, but things are slowly starting to ease up now, so we're ready to pounce on anything that looks like it might work. :-)
Oh I'm sorry about the issues that's never any fun. We're having issues here too I'm actually surprised we haven't been put on the news for the uprising that took place here last week. (You never know lol.) Oh wow I had never imagined lockdowns could keep you from moving but I'm glad to hear that more things may be on the horizon to get out from under it. How fun, I'm a little nuts that I find moving 'fun' but I like the possibilities of it.
Do you feel rather nomadic there in a way differently to here? I remember when I lived in N Europe that it felt like I could just be/do whatever 'felt right' to me in a way that I never experienced in the US. (I mean here it came with repercussions of various sorts to make all the changes I have.) Well best of luck I hope something comes up soon I'm sure many landlords would like to have change of options too as maybe their units are left sitting open? (Maybe you'll find some good deals!) =)
I was saying the same kind of thing to a friend recently about moving and the sense of possibility. That said, we've moved so much in the last decade that I would like to settle in one place for a while. We thought this would be that place, but once autumn came, we found out otherwise!
It is easier to move here because places come furnished and with kitchen stuff, etc, so we don't have to haul that stuff around.
I do understand that. I've lived in the same place now for a long time and the move is feeling disruptive but it's 'for the better' and I always enjoy re-imagining life in a new place/space. I hope you find somewhere wonderful in the perfect area!
Thanks, Joy!🙂
