The Stockford Carol by Loreena McKennitt

This is another one from her CD/album/collection of songs (I never know what to call them now that it's all digital!) called To Drive the Cold Winter Away. It's a wonderful collection which is up there at the top of my seasonal favourites. She also has an 'EP' called A Winter's Garden and an 'album' called A Midwinter Night's Dream, which are all seasonal and all fabulous. I hope you're enjoying whatever seasonal music you love, too!

Dear Shari,
Unfortunately, under your text it says "This video is not available". But I watched / listened to your previous video. I like this kind of fairytale Irish music with harp sounds. And I feel that this song also goes well with a Christmas mood. I didn't know the artist before; thanks for introducing
And thank you for your nice comment in my blog. I can well imagine that it's strange for you to read the name Uwe since it was your father's name. It's a very common name in Germany (or at least it was in earlier times). Here in Austria the name Uwe is rather rare. As for your name, I have some idea how you could pronounce Shari - but I don't know whether this idea corresponds to reality ;-)
I wish you a wonderful Advent season πŸ•―️☃️πŸŽ„πŸŽ⛄πŸ€—πŸ•―️
All the best, Traude

I'm sorry you couldn't listen to the video--not sure why that is.

Wishing you a wonderful advent season as well--this one will be even more special now that you're a grandma!

I see the same thing as Rostrose, it's as tho it was taken down? It might only be available to ISP's in your local area?

Did you ever hear the soundtrack from the movie: "The Secret Garden"? The one with Kate Maberly and D Maggie Smith has a song at the end called "Winter Light" that has a similar feel and natural focus as this singer. It was sung by Linda Ronstadt.

If you searched you tube this phrase:

Winter Light (1993 The Secret Garden) Linda Ronstadt

You'd find it with a lovely video of the characters in the film showing different parts of it. One of my favorites because the kids overcome old family troubles and create a new family culture together. (A good message for kids that we don't often see.)

It's a bummer you can't hear the song--it's a nice one! Thanks for the recommendation!
