softening autumn landscape
as the dark descends
As I glanced out the bedroom window the other night, the moon and clouds caught my attention. I got my camera, even though I figured the picture would be blurry. When I looked at it, I loved that about it--all the soft edges create a seasonal vibe I didn't expect.

Yes! Bill said it just needs a witch on her broomstick flying in front of the moon. 😆
Well-spotted Vicki, I was going to say the same thing. It's so unusual. It looks almost like the Mt 'wanted to be on display' or something. I really couldn't figure it out (my contrast vision is rubbish.)
It's the moon, clouds, and a telephone pole with the grass underneath. It's blurry because even though I bumped up the ISO, I'm no photographer--LOL I knew it would be blurry when I took it, but did it anyway, just to see what the effect would be. As I glanced out the window, I was drawn by the sight of the moon and clouds. :-)
Oh thank you for the explanation. So the moon part doesn't illuminate the mountain? I'm not good with dark things but somehow the telephone pole/grass was easier to figure-out contextually than the light part. Believe me it's not your photography skills, I just can't always figure out what I'm looking at.
Really it's like an interesting painting, which is probably more to your photographic eye and ability than you give yourself credit for.
It reminded me and Bill of a painting, too--but that was a happy accident. I'll take it! :-D
Lovely. And a bit spooky. Trick or treat?
Yes! Very seasonal!
