Blooming Cactus

This is a very slow-growing cactus. We got two others at the same time and it's easy to see how much they've grown, but this one seemed to maybe get a bit taller and fatter, but it was hard to tell. The other day, I looked at it and thought there was something wrong with it because I saw those things sticking out of it. Then I looked closer and saw that it is blooming. 😃

Pretty! I want to put a flower bed next to the front of the house but it has to be things that can thrive in a lot of heat and humidity with little or no help from me. I don't have much of a green thumb, unlike my mom who could grow anything.

I do better with plants (whether food or ornamental) in pots, whether inside or out :-) Bill did really well when he was doing the community garden a few years ago--he grew a lot of food.

That is so cool!
I love houseplants and my few cactus plants, too 🌵

I don't know much about cacti, other than there are lots and lots of different varieties.
This looks great, how lovely that it is in bloom.

All the best Jan

All the flowers are open now, so there's a circle of blossoms around the top--quite pretty :-)

It'll be fun to see what they look like in full bloom.

It's always nice when cacti bloom, it doesn't always happen very often.
