Shell/Flower

Yesterday Bill and I walked along the shore path, veering off the footpath onto a few wee beaches and picking up rocks and a piece of shell that had a large hole in the center. I looked at the piece of shell and thought, 'I could add some thread to that.'

This afternoon I decided on a purple flower. Because the opening was an inch and a half at the largest, I knew I needed a small flower, so I decided to use two strands of sewing thread in slightly different shades of purple and a .95 mm steel hook (size 13). I sewed a bead to the center.

I love it! Now I will be on the lookout for more shell pieces like this. I shall have to think of something for some of the rocks and the sea glass too.

Happy Friday!
