We went out for a quick pre-coffee walk this morning. It was beautiful--not hot and not cold. Just chilly enough to wear a sweater. There was a breeze. Clouds blocked the sun. I was drinking in the peace and calm and enjoying the autumnal landscape.
Even though the clouds blocked the sun, Errigal was still in view.
They call it a mountain, but to me it's more like a large pointy hill. Whatever. I love seeing it.I hope that this day brings you whatever it is that you want/need. I'm going to refill my coffee mug. 😃

What a fabulous looking walk Shari. I love deserted buildings and what is left of them, but it is always sad too. And I bet that's a lovely sweater you wore. Did you knit it. We're having a late summer like day today and I spent several hours cleaning up some garden spaces this morning. That makes me happy as much as taking a walk. I hope you have a lovely rest of your weekend.
You have your own pointy hill (looks like a mountain to me!). What a beautiful walk and early. Autumn walks are beautiful and this was no exception. What a lovely area you have to call home.
I don't know what happened to that cottage--it was still intact 3 years ago! Yes, I did make the sweater I'm wearing, using yarn a friend brought me from the Boston Goodwill several years ago. It was a huge cone of thin yarn, which I used double and crocheted with it that way. I then made a could pair of fingerless gloves and some sock cuffs with some of the leftovers. And I still have more! I'm on a new-to-me refurbished computer and haven't yet moved my old photos over, but I'll see if I have one.
It is such a lovely place, Jeanie--I am so grateful! having lived on the west coast where there are really big mountains, I was always amused at what they called a mountain when we returned to New England. It's the same here. But that's just me. :-)
What a wonderful post.
Like you I enjoy the 'Ber' months.
Your words "peace and calm and enjoying the autumnal landscape" are my favourite kind of day.
Wishing you (and Bill) a happy and peaceful weekend.
My very good wishes.
All the best Jan
It really does look tranquil, Shari. I would be thrilled to make this walk, and I would make sure I had a matching sweater. We would be quite a sight!
I hope you have many peaceful days during the -ber months, Jan! They always fly by so quickly and I'm trying to enjoy each moment :-) Have a lovely day!
I'll have your sweater ready, David! We'll be sure to coordinate with the landscape :-)
I will be in England this time next week, for just five days with no time to spare, otherwise I would seriously think of a lightening visit.
So close and yet so far! Hopefully one day you'll be able to come for a visit 🤞 Have a great trip!
I love this post! A few of my favorite things are coffee, weather that's not not hot or cold, peace, calm and enjoying the autumn colors. Sadly, Florida is not an autum color state. I only know of one tree in my area that chaanges colors and that's at the local Publix.
We don't get much color here either, Vicki. I love it when I see it but usually we have strong winds that blow the leaves off the trees before they change. :-(
