Bill just got an email from his dentist informing him that their Black Friday sale begins on Monday. One can apparently 'give the gift of a sparkling smile' or something like that. Is this really a good idea? Maybe if Santa sparkles up his smile it'll be so dazzling that Rudolph can take this year off. But I can see this going horribly wrong. Imagine the happy moment on Christmas morning when someone opens an eagerly awaited gift from someone special only to discover a teeth whitening kit or a voucher for dental work and wondering if they're trying to send a message. That could end the festive mood in a hurry. I'm not a Black Friday fan anyway, but I think some businesses are less suited to it than others.

Black Friday is anathema to any thinking person. But this dental thing might work for me. When I was a child I had two teeth removed and they were never replaced. No one had money for such frivolous activity and I have lived my whole life without them without a problem. My dentists over the years, however, have tried to chivvy me into having them capped or crowned, whatever it is they do, guaranteed to improve my life in more ways than you can imagine. I think five grand would cover it, so I'm sure that Bill will wish to take care of this. If I have to fly to Ireland to have it done, I'm in for that. See you in February, Shari!
So that'll be about 42 vouchers, if I calculated correctly. Bill will see if there's a limit ;-) Meanwhile, I'll put the kettle on.
