Happy Thanksgiving (or Thursday)

Happy Thanksgiving if you celebrate today and happy Thursday if you don't. Of course, every day is a good day to remember all we have to be thankful for.

I'm taking a break from the kitchen at the moment. A friend is coming to join us today. I'll have leftovers for the weekend. It smells wonderful in here. It's raining and my friends the clouds have kept the sun hidden from my view. May your day be equally lovely, in whatever way that looks to you.

Have a wonderful Thanksgiving. It doesn't matter where or with who you celebrate, does it? It is always just as wonderful.

Have a wonderful day ... it's probably over by now ... so I should perhaps have said, it sounds like a wonderful day was planned.
My good wishes for today and everyday :)

All the best Jan

Happy Thanksgiving, Shari. I know that you and Bill give thanks for all the right things, so the celebration is special.

I do like the holiday and what it stands for. We could celebrate it any day, but it's nice to keep the tradition as we knew it.

It's interesting that you said that. It was this year that I decided I wouldn't be 'wishing people Happy T'. I used to text several family members and friends and those who understood i texted 'Happy Gratitude Day ;)' or something like that... I guess depending where people are at it could seem wrong either way. As long as it's a holiday in the US, we can't avoid that part, the only other thing to say was 'happy day off if it you have it'... Even those home and cooking-up a storm don't 'have the day off' so I just decided to say nothing.

I do feel there's always something I can find to be grateful for, whether or not relate to the historical reason for the day is something else. Gratitude Day at least gives notice to the fact that they were helped to survive despite the hardships and mindset that they brought with them.

I guess one good thing about celebrating Thanksgiving in a place where it's not a thing is that there's none of the baggage. :-)
