They're Screaming

In summer 2021, "In a twenty-four-hour period, the temperature in downtown Portland, Oregon jumped from 76 degrees to 114 degrees (F), the hottest temperature in 147 years of observations...If you'd had the right kind of microphone, scientists say, you could have heard the trees screaming."

We have days like that in the summer and it's torture. As soon as I walk outside my glasses fog up and I fill like I just got out of a hot shower. When I changed drs. he sent me for labs and when the results came back he said "Your Vitamin D is WAY low. You don't go out in the sun very often do you?" I said "I go from my house to my car and from my car into my work or house, and once in a while from my car to inside the store and back to my car and then into the house.

Does Bill have any plans to start blogging again?

And they will scream again.

Vicki--he is still thinking about it. Apparently, almost everyone here is VitD deficient, which is not surprising, but I hadn't thought of the issue with regard to people who live in sunny places, but where it's too hot to be outside in the sun.

David--yes, they will--and humans will keep on doing the same old stuff that got us here.

I'm with you on that, Jan! And they're definitely not set up for that kind of heat there.
