I'd never seen giant rhubarb until we visited Clifden nine years ago. I've seen it here and there since, but it's all over the place around here this year. I'd never seen it flowering until this month. I kind of like the flowers. You can get a sense of the size of these plants as they take over the outside of the derelict cottage.

There was a slight autumnal feel to the air this morning--very appropriate on the eve of meteorological autumn. I am thrilled.
