On a Sock Kick

Last week, I finished a pair of gift socks and posted them with my fingers crossed, hoping they'd get to their destination by today. Happily, the package arrived yesterday, so there was plenty of time!
After those were done, I was deciding what to do next and realised I still felt sockish, so I grabbed a  skein of sock yarn, decided on a stitch pattern for the instep, cast on, and knit away. I finished the first one of the pair last night and a short time later, cast on and started knitting its mate. Just to be on the safe side, when I was packing yarn last week in preparation for our move, I removed enough yarn for another pair, just in case I finish this pair and still feel the socks calling to me. I have decided on the instep stitches too, so if the urge is still there, I will be ready! 😉

Have you ever tried two at a time socks?

Thanks, Jedidja! I used to be intimidated by socks and was knitting for over 20 years before I attempted a pair. It was the funky self-striping/patterning yarn that pulled me in! It looked so incredible with all those colours and I wanted to try it. I was teaching various things at a local yarn shop at the time (10+ years ago now) and I could not resist that yarn, so I learned to make socks.

Hal--the recipient is a huge Portland Trailblazer (basketball) fan and their colours are scarlet and black. I have tried 2 socks on 2 circs and did not care for the process, so went back to my dpns. :-)

I do mine two on one long needle. It's sometimes fiddly, but better than having to write notes, etc so the second sock will be the same. (It works for me anyway). 😎
